As a journalism major, Kelsey started her professional career in PR before making the not-so-natural transition into the fashion industry, where she spent several years assuring people that it was nothing like The Devil Wears Prada.

A 2023 Stowe Story Labs finalist, her work has also been recognized by the Academy Nicholl Fellowship, Austin Film Festival, NBC Writers on the Verge, Coverfly's The Red List and Roadmap Writers’ Writers on the Map program.

Kelsey gravitates toward stories with complex female characters, queer characters who aren’t solely defined by their queerness, subverted stereotypes, and a smattering of the following: heists, witches, royalty, treasure hunts, spies, quirky small towns, romcoms, family dynasties and murder mysteries.

She resides in Prospect, KY, with her wife, Emma and rescue pups, Lady Bantry Classiebawn Mountbatten Windsor and Winifred Adele Cornelia Sanderson, First of Her Name.

She has a comedy feature in development with Warner Bros. Discovery as well as two holiday features with producers securing financing.
